The next year, Virex(25), SAM(26) , Vaccine, and Disinfectant(27) made their debut to combat the virus problem. Hewlett-Packard shipped the DeskWriter, a low cost but high-quality printer. System 7 was released to developers and Claris, the new company spun off from the software division of Apple, released MacWrite II and MacDraw II. Finally, the Mac Portable is released and quickly dropped due to its excessive weight, lack of portability, and high price.
