Before I had planned the work trip part of this, I had Global Journey tickets to Tomorrowland to/from Amsterdam and non-refundable hotels the day before and after. It's also hard to say no to a day in Amsterdam, so I kept this part of the trip.

This time, I arrived around lunchtime since I was just coming on a short flight from London so I had the full day to explore. Harris had already been there for a couple days so he could adjust to the timezone difference. We walked around a bit and then stumbled upon the Rembrandt Museum so spent a couple hours checking that out. We got to walk through his original house with a self-guided audio tour and then there was a small modern museum building next door with some more of his artwork. We then had a drink at Hannekes Boom in the Dijkspark, which was right on the water. While we were walking around town, I got a cryptic text from my friend Julien that just said "Tomorrowland canceled." After responding with "What???," he sent a photo of the MainStage completely engulfed in flames. We sat at a cafe and tried to get more information on what was happening and to confirm it wasn't a sick joke from an AI. I tried downloading a Belgian news app just to get more information when Tomorrowland finally put out an update confirming that they had suffered a major fire but they were still trying to put on the event. I texted Brennan to let him know what had happened and he received my message when he landed.

Brennan and his husband, Jared, joined us in the evening, obviously disappointed from the news of the afternoon. We tried to make the best of it with a quick dinner and then did a canal boat cruise with Flagship Amsterdam which was great. Our tour guide was native and knew all about the area. We headed to bed not knowing what was going to happen the next day but that the Dreamville (camp area) would still be opening so we made plans to go to our train as scheduled.
