Before arriving, I did a lot of research on dive shops in Tahiti and decided to go with Dive & Sea Tahiti. Their 5-star reputation on Tripadvisor left me with high expectations and they did not disappoint. I took a $20 taxi ride from the hotel and as soon as I arrived, they greeted me like family. I left my shoes outside and got introduced to the dive team and got a tour of the facility.

Our first dive site was La Source, named for a freshwater spring that you could see underwater. As soon as we descended, we were greeted by 3 Black-tip Reef Sharks and an Undulated Moray Eel. We saw numerous green sea turtles which I love and then I also found a Clearfin Lizardfish hanging out on top of a coral which I thought was really cool. At the end of the dive, I was greeted by a Trumpetfish.

Dive & Sea only does single tank dives which I found a little weird since I'm used to always doing two tanks, but the shop was a short 10-minute boat ride from each of the dive sites, so it was actually nice to get back on land to dry off between the dives rather than being rushed to the next site.

The second site was Saint Etienne Drop Off where I took the best photo I've ever taken of a sea turtle. He swam by me at the perfect angle with the bright blue sea as a background and it was just beautiful. I was also fascinated by these black-and-white fish which I later looked up as the Half-and-half Chromis fish.
