Started this morning in Buenos Aires with our Uber driver going the wrong way on a one-way street into traffic but fortunately we survived that and made it into the town of Ushuaia. The USH airport is adorably small, resembling a ski lodge with exposed wooden beams throughout. The taxiway is just on the other side of a chain-link fence and the parking lot is gravel and just a short walk to the terminal building. We boarded our bus and headed into town to drop our luggage off at the hotel.

With the whole afternoon ahead of us, we took the bus guide’s suggestion of checking out the Museo del Presidio and Mueso Maritimo (Prison and Maritime Museum). This was the only museum open in town today and it took a couple hours to walk through the old prison. They had exhibits set up in each of the old jail cells with artifacts from early Antarctic expeditions, history about the town, artistic pieces, and more. Each wing of the prison had a different theme.

After that, we headed to dinner and then back to our hotel to get rested for tomorrow.
