Almost through the Drake Passage at this point and we are approaching Antarctica! We actually technically crossed into the politically recognized area of Antarctica last night at 60°S. It was just starting to snow as we sailed on. Our first iceberg was spotted this morning although I didn’t actually see one until the afternoon. Shortly after, we saw land in the distance.

Earlier that morning, we had our Zodiac training and Biosecurity inspections. Tom, our marine biologist, presented about whales and then we had another photography basics class before we jumped into our first Zodiac cruise of the trip!

We saw a couple Antarctic Fur Seals, some Gentoo Penguins, and a view of the Argentine Melchior Base. We finished up around 17:30 and headed back to the ship. Still haven’t set foot on land yet though.
